We’re back from our honeymoon and back to work! We had such an incredible time exploring, adventuring and finding creative inspiration at every turn. We’ll have to share more about that later because right now, we’ve got orders from our newly released Above & Below Collection to complete and events to prepare for! Thank you all for your patience as we took some time away.

Pictured above is a celebration bonfire in Sweden of Walpurgisnacht, which in English traditions called Walpurgis night. Walpurgisnacht is celebrated each year on April 30 - May 1. The festival, filled with dancing, singing, music, and ritual around a bonfire, is named for the Christian Saint Walpurga.

In Germanic and Norse traditions, it is considered “the other Halloween” when the barrier between our world and the spirits is at its most permeable. A time to interact with the spirit world where fires are lit to keep spirits who might do us harm, at bay. At this time of the thin veil we are focusing on creating and drawing power from the beyond, channelling it into jewelry pieces we are fervently creating for the upcoming spring Oddities Flea Market in Los Angeles.

The Oddities Flea Market on May 18 and 19, 10am-6pm. Hosted at The Globe Theatre in Los Angeles, initially conceived in Brooklyn, this event is a curated affair full of the best purveyors of the curious, odd, and unique.

From the event hosts:

“Feast your eyes on medical history ephemera, anatomical curiosities, natural history items, osteological specimens, taxidermy, obscure home decor, jewelry, one of a kind dark art, and more.” General admission tickets are only $15 at the door.

You can skip the line and ensure you get to see everything first with advanced VIP tickets. I am so excited to participate in this event alongside so many other talented creators like Blood Milk Jewels, La Femme en Noir, Deandri, Scientific Woman, Catacomb Culture, and so many more talented and awesome retailers of macabre goods!

To celebrate being a part of this unique event, We are creating a selection of one-of-a-kind pieces that will only be available at Oddities Flea Market. (Keep your eyes out for some new mens rings)

So gather your friends to communicate with the spirits on Walpurgisnacht, then come see me on May 18 and 19 to score some seriously unique and compelling works of wearable art.

In the meantime check out one of our newest additions to the Acid Queen Family, the mystically charged Eldreth ring. Everyone of these that I have crafted has been hard to part with. I feel a deep connection to this design, I hope all of you do as well!
