After an astrologically packed Taurus Season that demanded steady navigation through a mix of slow-moving energy and deeply intense experiences, the Sun enters Gemini on May 21st - June 20st and carries us through that last month of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. With Mercury Retrograde and Eclipse Season now in the rear- view mirror, Gemini Season brings forward a lighthearted, playful energy that helps us as we shake off some of the heavier experiences of the previous season.

Throughout Taurus Season, we worked within the element and modality of fixed earth; an energy that required patience and stability, while we persevered through delays and unpredictable Eclipse happenings. Now, in the element of mutable air, we work with an energy that is adaptable, open to suggestions and prioritizes that spark of what it feels like to live life from moment to moment. Where earth energy carries lessons through a sense of duty and determination in the earthly realms, the element of mutable air prompts us to break out of routine, seek variety, and allow our curiosity to lead us into new experiences that bring fresh inspiration.

With Jupiter newly in Taurus and Mars newly in Leo, the jolt of energy it brings feels palpable, as it noticeably revitalizes our energy levels. Now, as we enter the first official Air Season of the Astrological New Year, we are eager for new forms of stimulation, conversation and the kind of inspiration that happens when you can bounce your ideas off of others. If the previous season had you feeling closed off, or a bit anti-social, Gemini Season comes in with a buzzy, cerebral vibe that is ready to mingle and eager to push out of anything that’s feeling stale. The bouncy + somewhat mischievous energy of Gemini’s childlike nature is a reminder that not everything has to be so heavy or permanent.

It’s like that feeling you get when you open all the windows in your home and you can feel the breeze circulating the energy.

On June 3rd, the Full Strawberry Moon in 13º Sagittarius highlights illuminations on the intellectual axis that represents the logical and philosophical mind. Where Gemini represents the intellectual student, Sagittarius represents the wisdom of the experienced teacher, asking us to strike a balance between these two archetypes of what we know versus what we seek. Emotional tension is highlighted by a Moon/Saturn square, revealing sobering moments or blockages that prompt action or understanding through the lessons of compassion or letting go. The energy is both exciting and intense, as two, tension-inducing T-squares are formed alongside an auspicious mystic rectangle. Our values, relationships or finances may be tested through transformative experiences, while on the flipside, sudden communication or new ideas could bring expansion through destined opportunities. When it comes to navigating this Moon, the trick is to blend what you know logically, with what you know intuitively.

Gemini’s ability to adapt to its surroundings is not only part of their charm but can be used as a superpower when it comes to their ability to connect, network and meet new people. So often, their chameleon-like nature and vast assortment of interests, makes it easy for them to mesh and mingle within a variety of different environments, skill sets and social surroundings. If you’re looking to make new friendships, hobbies, job opportunities, or even just looking to shake things up, this is a good time of year to put yourself out there.

As an Air sign, Gemini energy is all about connectivity and the exchange of information. While this is beneficial energy for social interactions, you’ll want to be careful with your communication and refrain from getting involved with anything that feels gossipy. As external processors, their gift of gab, social tendencies and need for communication is a vital part of what fuels this process, allowing them to bounce their streams of consciousness off of others with dramatic “jazz hands” that inject emphasis and personality into every word. Everything and everyone is a mirror, needing to hear their own words out loud before they can truly process their own concepts. While Gemini energy is great at talking, listening skills can sometimes suffer, causing misinformation to be repeated as a result. With Venus joining Mars in Leo on June 5th, the pace of energy, as well as the speed that information spreads, significantly ramps up, as the air and fire energy mix. While this energy is fun, lighthearted and creative, just be mindful of your words.

Natives of this sign are constantly looking to feed their head with new information and will take it in any form that’s available when they become interested in something. Podcasts, books, movies, newsletters, courses + classes are all some of their favorite things, making it a great time to learn something new or find your latest information obsession. That being said, this energy has a short attention span and is prone to burnout, especially when something doesn’t hold their interest.  This Season, you may find it harder to hold your attention on anything that doesn’t excite you, especially after June 11th when Mercury joins the Sun in Gemini. If boredom starts to creep in, switching up your daily routines is a great way to interchange the energy and invite more stimulation into your day.

Gemini’s association with the Magician card in tarot, speaks to their ability to manifest.  As the magicians of the zodiac, these natives skillfully utilize their many talents, interests + endless cerebral energy in a way that can create an alchemic spark, turning a single dopamine-induced idea, into tangible existence. That being said, this is the perfect time for creative projects, writing or other forms of communication or artistic expression that may have been pushed to the side during the previous Season. The buzz of heady energy is amazing for coming up with new ideas, concepts or plans you intend to initiate.

Gemini represents the twins, which speaks to their issue of being split between two minds, as well as their ability to connect to many different parts of their personality. Decision making can be a tedious task of over analyzing their options and information, potentially causing them to be stuck in their head after justifying why each side of the coin would be a good choice. Where Taurus Season helped us make clear-cut decisions, Gemini Season can get you stuck in a back and forth. If you find yourself in this position, do yourself a favor and take a step back to clear your head before diving back in but remember that it’s okay to change your mind. Oftentimes, things aren’t as complex as we make them out to be.

The Season begins to come to a close with a New Moon in 26º Gemini that occurs between June 17th + 18th, depending on where you live. As this lunation kickstarts a new 28-day cycle, we are asked to go inward and reflect on our communication. Even though we are at the beginning of something new, the New Moon makes a square to Neptune that can feel foggy, unclear and slightly anxiety inducing. At this time, communication may feel blocked, or challenging news surrounding finances, relationships or friendships may require you to find stillness before you find your solutions. After all the hustle and bustle of Gemini Season, this is a time for us to take a moment of pause after a busy season so we can refocus our intentions before moving into Cancer Season.

As a Gemini Rising, Gemini Season is one of my favorite times of the year because it reminds us of how important it is to be in the moment. Those Taurus, structured, routines are great for delivering consistency but after a while we can find ourselves stuck or lacking inspiration. Human beings are multi-faceted and complex, but we don’t always allow ourselves the space or freedom to explore or acknowledge all the different parts of ourselves. This Season, allow yourself the space to follow your curiosity and let it lead you towards new interests and opportunities. Mingle, prioritize variety, ask questions, strike up conversations with people who are different from you and let yourself be changeable as often as you see fit.

 Happy Birthday Gemini!
