CREATION PROCESS:

Each Starling Necklace is hand-fabricated in our Idyllwild, California studio using Acid Queen’s signature technique. We begin by hand-carving the design in wax, capturing the organic flow and celestial inspiration of starling murmurations.

The wax model is then cast in solid brass using traditional lost wax casting methods. After casting, each pendant is meticulously hand-finished to bring out the architectural details and create depth in the metalwork.

The faceted Clear Quartz is hand-selected for its clarity and light-catching properties, then carefully set within the brass framework. The faceting allows light to pass through and refract, creating prismatic flashes that mirror the dynamic movement of birds in flight.

The final steps include polishing and oxidizing to create contrast in the brass, highlighting the geometric design while allowing the crystal to remain the luminous focal point.

Because each piece is handcrafted and features natural hand-cut stones, slight variations in the quartz and metalwork make every necklace truly one of a kind.

JEWELRY CARE:

Brass naturally develops a patina over time, deepening to a rich antique finish. This is part of the beauty of the metal and adds character to your piece.

To maintain the original bright finish, gently polish with a soft cloth or brass polish. The gold plated chain and findings should be treated gently to preserve the plating. Avoid harsh chemicals and remove jewelry before swimming or bathing.

Clear Quartz should be cleansed regularly to clear absorbed energies. Use sage smoke, moonlight, or sound to recharge the stone’s natural amplifying properties.

Store your necklace in a cool, dry place when not wearing. A jewelry box or pouch will help prevent scratching and tarnishing.

We ship via USPS Ground, with options for USPS Priority Mail or UPS options with insurance and tracking. Domestic orders arrive within 2-5 business days after shipping. International orders may take 2-3 weeks to arrive. Duties and customs fees are determined by your country’s policies.
